I had the privilege of working on “Lahore 1947,” produced by Aamir Khan Productions, a film set to release in 2025 that focuses on the India-Pakistan partition. My role involved a comprehensive approach to set design, from the initial research phase to the final execution. We recreated the streets of Lahore and Meerut with meticulous attention to detail, including constructing a train that accurately reflects the 1940s.
Collaborating closely with the Production Designer I was deeply involved in conceptualizing and executing the visual design of the set. This included everything from 3D design and AutoCAD drawings to arranging period-appropriate props. Ensuring historical accuracy and visual impact was crucial, so I provided input on color schemes, textures, and layouts to enhance the film’s authenticity.
On set, I managed adjustments and modifications, ensuring the design remained adaptable to the director’s evolving needs and changes during filming. Watching the set come to life on the monitor was an overwhelmingly rewarding experience and a significant highlight in my design journey.
